The CanSAGE Foundation is the charitable arm of the Canadian Society for the Advancement of Gynecologic Excellence (CanSAGE). We are a registered Canadian charity committed to advancing gynecologic health. CRA Registration: 722035953RR0001
Who We Are
About Us
The CanSAGE Foundation was conceived in 2023 with a clear purpose: to improve gynecologic care for all individuals who need it, including cisgender, transgender, and non-binary people. Over the past three years, we’ve carefully planned our strategy, engaged with experts, and laid the groundwork to make a meaningful difference in Canada.
In 2026, we officially launched, ready to transform our vision into action. Our goals are ambitious, with your support we aim to:

Provide training and resources for healthcare professionals to deliver inclusive, high-quality gynecologic care.

Fund studies focused on acute and chronic gynecologic conditions, including endometriosis, fibroids, and chronic pelvic pain.

Develop new approaches, partnerships, and initiatives to make gynecologic care more equitable and accessible.
We are proud to support over 1,000,000 individuals in achieving better gynecologic health nationwide.
CanSAGE Foundation receives charitable status
Founder Statement - John Thiel, Chair & Director
I am pleased to share that, after an extensive application process, the CanSAGE Foundation has officially received charitable status from the Canada Revenue Service. We are excited to launch this important initiative.
The Foundation’s Board includes Drs. Liane Belland, Deborah Robertson, and Philippe Laberge, along with Ms. Philippa Bridge-Cook of The Endometriosis Network.
The Board will convene in 2026 to begin planning our fundraising efforts and to establish priorities for the allocation of funds toward research and education in the year ahead. If you are interested in becoming involved with the Foundation, I would be pleased to connect with you.
